Table Mountain

While in Cape Town, we hiked Table Mountain. If this hike is on your itinerary, and the mountain is clear of clouds, it is recommended you go that day, because the next day could be cloudy, which makes the climb impossible. This is Table Mountain from our apartment area the following day, sporting the cloudy covering that is cleverly known as the "tablecloth."

We took the Platteklip Gorge hike, which is a 3k hike that climbs about 750 meters. It was an impressive stone staircase, the equivalent of a 225-story building. Can you spot Claire and George?

On top, we were rewarded with incredible views toward Cape Point.

And of course, stunning views of Cape Town.

The crowds in line to take the cable car down the mountain deterred us, so we walked back the same way we had come up, hoping to beat the sunset down.
