Wonderland Trail Day 7

On Day 7 we hiked 14.2 miles from Summerland to Maple Creek.

A family of marmots greeted us.

Claire loves Marmots. And glaciers.

Today's hike offered incredible views.

In these pictures you can see the Nisqually Glacier to one side and the Cascades and Mount Adams in the distance.

We hiked down to Indian Bar, enjoyed a snack and filtered water near Wauhaukaupauken Falls.

If you look closely, you can see Claire filtering water to the left of the center creek.

The hike out of Indian Bar across the Cowlitz Divide was hot, but offered amazing views.

We should have pumped more water - there was no water between Indian Bar and Nickel Creek this picture was taken right after we realized we had about ½ liter of water left for a 3 mile hike in the heat of the day.

We were happy to get to Nickel Creek.

We hiked through Box Canyon. In this picture the surface of the water is 115 feet below.

Our campsite at Maple Creek!
