Wonderland Trail Day 4

Today, we hiked 11 miles from S. Mowich to Cataract Valley

We awoke before 6, the rain had stopped, and we were eager to get out of the wet campsite and to our cache at the Mowich Lake campground.

We spent a few hours in front of the ranger cabin drying out. We encountered several rangers and talked with Ranger Mike about his work building and repairing backcountry cabins.

Mowich Lake!

After lunch we hiked through Spray Park and across incredible terrain above the clouds.

Cairns (including this huge one) mark the trail.

The descent to Cataract Valley is steep, lush and beautiful.

We arrived at Cataract Valley to find a campground full of other hikers hanging clothes and trying to dry out.
