Hydrangea Temple
Also near Kamakura is a beautiful temple dedicated to the hydrangeas. It is beautiful. There is a walk up a hill, about 600 meters, that allows beautiful views of the landscape and the flowers.
Kamakura
On one of our free days we went to Kamakura - what used to be the capital of Japan - the seat of the Shogunate during the 12th century. Today is is home to a temple and a shopping area.
Like every temple there is the requisite sake offerings for the gods.
My good friend Yano was kind enough to tour us around for the day.
Asakusa
Asakusa is a district that is home to the the Gates of Thunder temple. We enjoyed this afternoon visit.
